About

My name is Dominic.  I’m a home-schooled high school student, focused on making a positive impact on the world.  The way I intend to do this is by writing, hoping my words will have some influence on people to help change their lives for the better.  I chose the name “Aul” (AE-OOL) to be my public name because it means “Giver” in Elven; the Elven language in a book I’m writing.  Givers are people that do and want what’s best for other people at the cost of hard effort.  To give is to love, and not love as in cheesy love, but hard core love, where sacrifices are made, and giving things up is necessary to achieve what is best for those to whom the Giver is loving.  My book series, The Saga of Montairyus (TSOM), is about people who become Givers for the sake of those they love and for their world.  I hope you read and learn more about the book within the pages and posts of my blog.  May you be inspired by my writing and the messages in the stories.

so what is Elven language and what is your book about?

The Elven language is just that; a language in Elven, only my version of Elven. I gave a general description of what the book is about on the opening page, but if you really want to know, I advise that you read “Sneak Peak at ‘I Was Called’!”. The plot is really decided by those first two chapters.

Dominic, I am quite impressed by what you are accomplishing at such a young age. Wearing your hoody in your Gravatar picture, you look like a monk. Very cool, actually (looking mysteriously like a monk).

Hi! You’ ve asked about your blog design and, in my opinion, it’s just the way it should be. Even at first sight, it’s pretty clear that the blog theme is about a fantasy world. You’re a skillful writer. And, one more thing- are you going to put a monk as an important figure in your story? Your avatar picture made me think of it.
    Good luck!

Haha no, there isn’t a monk in my book. You’re the second person that has suggested that my avatar looks like one…I was going for a rather anonymous, secretive look. Oh well 🙂

Hey I wanted to let you know that I am very inspired by what you are doing on WordPress! I am also a high school student, although I’m not home schooled anymore, so I do understand the perspective that you are coming from. Keep chasing your dream to impact the world through your writing, and I know that you will reach your goals! There is a quote from one of my favorite anime that I have watched that I believe would help spur motivation to continue your work; it explains that effort and time will always produce positive results, even if they are not what you expect.

“Human kind can not gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy’s first law of equivalent exchange. In those days we really believed that to be the world’s one and only truth. But the world isn’t perfect and the law is incomplete. Equivalent exchange doesn’t encompass everything that goes on here, but I still choose to believe in its principle. That all things do come at a price. That there’s an ebb and a flow, a cycle that the pain we went through did have a reward and that anyone who’s determined and perseveres will get something of value in return, even if it’s not what they expected.” (Alphonse Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist)

Thank you so much for such a well-thought-out comment! Your encouragement means a lot to me, and lately I’ve really needed it. So thank you!

YES. Fullmetal Alchemist is my favorite anime too!! I just wrote a post all about Equivalent Exchange: https://thegoldenlands.wordpress.com/2016/04/02/fullmetal-alchemist-discussion-is-equivalent-exchange-real/

You should definitely check out my book series “The Golden Lands”. It’s basically a fantasy/Christian/anime series, geared towards teens like you. I’m really glad that I found you! You’re exactly the kind of person my books appeal to!
And by the way, it’s great that you’re taking time to point out which anime shows are good for Christians…it’s definitely a struggle finding good, morally-upright TV shows anymore. So thank you!
