The Saga of Montairyus

Montairyus (mon-TEHR-EE-US).  It’s a name that seems to describe something vast; something that’s grand and possesses a sense of awesomeness.  It’s a name that holds credibility in regards that something amazing is going to happen to whatever it is or whoever it is.  As the name implies something magnificent and exciting, there is a desire to know just who or what is Montairyus.

Montairyus is a world.  Created by the god Caeldius, it’s a vast piece of land, along with two islands, that holds amazing sights and features.  It holds creatures such as humans, elves, Gilliks, Dishonuzes, and the occasional Pure Spirit.  Whereas many fictional worlds are placed in areas of mountainous beauty, mine is depicted in rural settings.  Mountains are easy to appreciate and imagine with awe; I cannot lie, there are mountains in Montairyus.  But it takes skill and imagination to truly describe and present a convincing image of how beautiful a rural setting can be, at least in comparison to a mountainous setting.  In any case, I hope you will be satisfied with Montairyus.  My background (credit for header goes to and credit for background goes to will hopefully give you a feel for what Montairyus looks like.

The Saga of Montairyus (TSOM) is the telling of how a group of humans and elves fight the evil of a powerful spirit in bodily form, Kartrus.  Kartrus seeks to enslave all those who oppose him using a sword which “injects evil” into those he stabs, giving them nearly irresistible temptations to join him.  Those that do turn to Kartrus become horrifying monsters, called Gilliks, that are entirely controlled by his supernatural hold over them.  The main characters, initially determined to rescue someone before he can be stabbed by Kartrus’s sword, become heroes that, as a result, become essential to the world’s survival.  However, they are not only pitted against Kartrus and his army, but also against their own temptations and fears.  Therefore, not only do they battle Kartrus, but they must battle with themselves for righteousness.  And only by achieving this righteousness can they become what Montairyus needs to thwart Kartrus.  Though I try not to credit myself, The Saga of Montairyus is a story filled with all that one could hope for; excitement, suspense, emotion, humor, action, horror, and romance.  I hope you enjoy the series, but I especially hope that you are inspired by the characters to battle for what’s right and to battle evil.

Hayrm veril, (Peace always)

This sounds really interesting. I love fantasy adventures – particularly with elves! Have you finished your novel yet? I am writing one as well, but it is more of a post apocalyptic adventure exploring how things would really be if everything we fear might happen to the earth happens. How are you finding writing the novel? I find huge parts easy to write, but I am now at a stage where I am trying to tie everything together which is getting more difficult because it all has to piece together! Eager to read more.

Thank you! Writing the novel is hard, fun, and overall an awesome experience. I’m able to put my emotions in the book and create people that do things so awesome that they inspire others to do awesome things.
I totally agree with you: some parts are easy to write, while during others I get stuck. Plot-holes are the worst!!!

This seems like a very interesting and engaging, seem like it’s difficult to write fantasy, you really have to have the imagination, but it does seem fun to discover the worlds this style/genre will lead to. I became interested in fantasy/scifi after reading 2001 space odyssey, I’ve also read Wicked which is probably more fantasy. I wish you good luck.

Thank you! I do agree that fantasy requires a lot of imagination and a lot of hard work, but it’s also a lot of fun. I’m glad to hear you’re into fantasy! Hopefully my book will provide you with another fantasy series you’ll enjoy.

Aul, we can all relate to a saga pitting Good vs Evil, as we in our perhaps less adventurous lives struggle with the two.

You are welcome. This morning I realized that I have been remiss in reading your saga. Forgive me. I put a bookmark on my iPad desktop and have added your work to my reading list. Unfortunately, now that I associate with authors, my reading list is getting really long. You, though, have prayed for me and my family which gives your work precedence. I will give you feedback as I progress in my reading.

Unfortunately, my book has not been published yet. I am searching for literary agents right now. So technically, yes, my book is finished, but I’m hoping to get it published.
Thanks for the comment and the compliment!
